The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device comprising: a first substrate; a first sub pixel electrode to which a first voltage is applied to, and which is disposed on the first substrate; a second sub pixel electrode which is disposed on the first substrate, and to which a second voltage is applied; an insulating film located between the first and second sub pixel electrodes; a second substrate which faces the first substrate; and a common electrode located on the second substrate. The first sub pixel electrode comprises: a first sub area located under the insulating film; and a second sub area located on the insulating film. The first and second sub areas are connected to each other through a contact hole formed on the insulating film. The second sub pixel electrode is located on the insulating film. The first sub area of the first sub pixel electrode and a third sub area of the second sub pixel electrode are overlapped by having the insulating film interposed therebetween. The first sub area of the first sub pixel electrode is a plane shape which includes a cross-shaped connection unit located on the center thereof, and four parallelograms surrounding the cross-shaped connection unit, wherein a depression part is formed on edges of left and right sides thereof. According to the present invention, side visibility can approximate to front visibility, and degradation of a penetration ratio can be prevented by upgrading texture which can be generated in a pixel. |
