A chair comprising a seat 36, backrest 44, support structure 26 and base 22 wherein the seat 36, backrest 44 and support structure 26 are pivotally mounted to tilt over a range in and out of a reclined position wherein the sea 36t is free to pivot over its range independently of the tilt of the supporting structure 26. The backrest 44 and seat 36 may be mounted on the supporting structure 26 which may include arm rests. Pivoting of each element may be regulated or damped by a resiliently deformable component such as a compression spring or hydraulic damper. Stop positions may be used to limit movement to specific ranges of angles of tilt. The chair may be an office style chair with a central column and wheels. |
