<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of performing the quantitative determination of cholesterol, especially determining the concentration ratio of high density lipoproteins (HDL) to low density lipoproteins (LDL), easily with a small number of steps. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the concentration ratio of the HDL to LDL includes measurement of a dissolved oxygen concentration utilizing a vibrational response. The vibrational response is performed by mixing a first solution containing hydrogen peroxide and lipoproteins with a second solution containing a catalase and a cholesterol oxidase through a semipermeable membrane. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
