<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device and a reception method for receiving an SSB multiplexed OFDM signal, which can obtain excellent transmission error characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving device 10 eliminates, from upper sideband and lower sideband demodulation data, an influence component based on lower sideband information symbols included in the upper sideband and an influence component based on upper sideband information symbols included in the lower sideband (13), and demodulates the demodulation data which have had their influence components removed (21).
