A sweetening agent contains saccharin and one or more biologically-acceptable organic basic compounds, e.g. piperazine, mono-ethanolamine, diethanolamine, lysine or other amino acid. A sequestering agent such as ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid may be incorporated. The sweetening agent may be dissolved in water, glycerol or propylene glycol, or it may be made into tablets with the aid of stearic acid. |
