FIELD: metallurgy.SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises the mixing of chromium-bearing and etchant effluents for simple steel. In compliance with the first version, simple steel chip in amount of at least one third of the volume is additionally added into reaction flask with chromium-bearing and etchant effluents and held therein at intermittent mixing to pH approx 5.5 and formation of sediment containing the iron and chromium compound. In compliance with the second version, used etchant effluents are, first, added to simple steel chip in said reaction flask and held to pH approx 5.5.
