发明名称 Improvements in or relating to aneroid barometers
摘要
1,018,006. Pressure gauges. APPLEBY & IRELAND Ltd. Aug. 13, 1963 [Nov. 6, 1962], No. 41974/62. Heading G1L. An aneroid barometer comprises a capsule assembly 27, a contact member in the form of a pivoted beam 50 urged toward a contact 34 on the assembly 27 by a control such as a light spring or magnet, a feeler contact 58 to engage the beam in such manner as to urge the beam out of contact with the assembly 27, a hand actuating member for moving the feeler contact, a reduction mechanism between the hand-actuating-member and the feeler-contact, measuring means for showing the position of the feeler-contact, and electrical means to show when contact has been established and comprising an amplifier circuit operating two signal lights 15, 16 one when the feeler contact engages the beam and the other when the beam contacts the capsule assembly 27. The capsule assembly 27 is mounted on an insulated rod 54 connected to a terminal 56. The contact 34 is carried at the other end of the assembly on a temperature compensating bimetallic strip 32. The beam 50 is pivoted between ears 48 on a slide 35, the position of the slide being adjusted in calibrating the instrument, by means of a screw 36. The capsule assembly and the beam and associated contacts and electrical leads are enclosed within an enclosure afforded by a dust cover 24 and a plate 23 which serves as a mounting for these parts, and air is admitted only to this enclosure through a damping plug 40, which prevents sudden changes of pressure affecting the instrument. The plug 40 is removable to give access to the screw 36. The beam 50 carries a contact 51 and the contacts 51, 34 will normally be in engagement due to the action of a magnet 153 and armature 53 carried by the beam. Alternatively a light spring may be used. The other arm of the beam 50 carries a contact 52 which is complementary to the feeler contact 58. The position of the feeler contact 58 may be adjusted towards and away from the contact 52 by rotation of a finger disc 70 through a worm gear 63 and a nut 67. The disc 70 projects through the cover of the instrument to enable it to be turned and it is also coupled to a cyclometer type counter and the reading of this counter is related to the position of the feeler-contact 58 and may be thus calibrated in millibars. When not in use the beam 50 may be clamped by movement of a lever 100 pivoted on a vertical axis at the base of the instrument, this movement causing an operating arm 103 (Fig. 5) to move a clamping spring 102 into engagement with the end 104 of the beam and to hold it against a rubber pad 106. The electrical contacts are connected through leads to the upper part of the instrument which contains a printed transistor amplifier circuit on a plate 84 which also carries the two lights 15, 16. The circuit is powered by a battery 82, and the lights are powered from a battery 83. The circuit is arranged such that when the contacts 58, 51 are in contact the light 16 is lit and similarly for the contacts 52, 34 the light 15 is lit. The lights are viewed through windows 17, 18 and a switch 93 is provided and this must be depressed to switch on the supply to the amplifier circuit. In use the lever 100 is moved to unlock the beam 50 and the switch 93 is depressed. Depending on which light 15 or 16 is lit the projecting edge of the finger disc 70 is rotated upwardly or downwardly respectively until the point is reached where both sets of contacts are in engagement and both lights are lit. The pressure reading on the counter is noted.
