PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of suppressing degradation of paper feeding efficiency.SOLUTION: A paper feeding device includes a paper feeding transportation path for transporting paper, a double feeding detection part which contains a sensor whose output fluctuates according to the number of overlapping sheets supplied to the paper feeding transportation path, for detecting double feeding based on an output of the sensor, a memory part which stores a number of detection times which is a number of times by which occurrence of double feeding is detected by the double feeding detection part, and a paper feeding part which supplies paper to the paper feeding transportation path and interrupts paper feeding operation when the double feeding detection part detects occurrence of double feeding. The double feeding detection part, when a preset threshold frequency is reached by a detection frequency since a first detection of double feeding occurrence when double feeding occurrence is detected continuously, stops double feeding occurrence thereafter. |
