A multiple-layer shelf assembly includes a plurality of shelves 20 and at least one support member 30 and multiple engaging members 40 connected to each other to support the shelves. The at least one support member has at least one ridge 31 and notches 32 are defined along the at least one ridge. The engaging member consists of a bent tubular member through which extends the support member. Rotation of the support member with respect to the engaging member ensures the engaging members are engaged with the notches of the support member. A locking post 21 may be thread through insertion holes 41 formed between the engaging members and the rotated support members. The shelves may be supported on the engaging members or alternatively the engaging members may be integral to the shelf (figure 12). In one embodiment, the engaging member is a rectangular loop with the support member being a rectangular tubular member. Alternatively, the support member may be a cylindrical member 60 having ridges 61 of triangular profile extending along its length. |
