The method involves calibrating and controlling a pulsed light source by calibrating the number of pulses, the level of fluencies of each emitted pulse and the pulse rate. An area of transparent light-sensitive material is inscribed, where each emitted pulse, the number of pulses and the pulse rate are utilized for irradiating the material in the area to form stabilized fluorescent aggregates (21) from a dopant, while minimizing modification of refractive index and absorption coefficient of a transparent medium (13) in a wavelength spectrum from visible to near infrared. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a three dimensional calibration blade for an optical system (2) a method for reading a transparent medium made of modified material (3) a device for reading data of a transparent data storage medium. |
