Purifying dialkyl carbonate compound (II) in at least one column, in presence of an alkylene oxide compound (V) and an alkyl alcohol compound (IV), is claimed. The temperature at the bottom of the column is 120-210[deg] C. Purifying dialkyl carbonate compound of formula (R2-O-C(=O)-O-R1) (II) in at least one column, in presence of an alkylene oxide compound of formula (V) and an alkyl alcohol compound of formula (R5-OH) (IV), is claimed. The temperature at the bottom of the column is 120-210[deg] C. R1, R2 : 1-6C alkyl (optionally branched and optionally substituted); R3, R4 : 1-4C alkyl, 2-4C alkenyl, 6-12C aryl (all optionally substituted) or H; and R5 : 1-4C alkyl. [Image].
