<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation detection technique capable of measuring radioactive dust concentration in a gas at a temperature at which a general plastic scintillator is to be softened. <P>SOLUTION: A radiation detector 10 includes: a scintillator 22 comprising polyethylenenaphthalate or a mixture whose main component is the polyethylenenaphthalate; a light shielding part 21 which shields external light on an outer side of the scintillator 22 and is opaque to visible light; a photomultiplier 24 which receives light emitted from the scintillator 22 and outputs electric signals to a signal processing part; and a case 25 which shields the photomultiplier 24 and the scintillator 22 from light made incident from the side of scintillator 22 rather than the light shielding part 21. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
