摘要 <p>Detergent compositions comprise (a) an anionic sulphate or sulphonate synthetic detergent, (b) an alkali polyphosphate, (c) a hydrocarbon of boiling point above 90 DEG C., and (d) an C12- 31 fatty acid or an alkali metal salt thereof; and optionally (e) a nonionic synthetic detergent. Typical quantities of these materials, based on the total composition, are (a) 5-30 wt. per cent, (b) 5-60 wt. per cent, and (c) + (d) 0.6-20 wt. per cent (when (e) is present (c) + (d) + (e) 0.6-30 wt. per cent). Exemplified components are (a) alkyl benzene sulphonates, alkyl glyceryl ether sulphonates, fatty alcohol sulphates, and sulphated alcohol- or alkylphenol-ethylene oxide condensates; (b) sodium tripolyphosphate; (c) turpentine oil, paraffin oil, paraffin wax, octene, n-dodecyl benzene, naphthalene, pinene, and many specified similar hydrocarbons; (d) numerous fatty acids and soaps thereof derived from natural oils, e.g. the sodium soap of hardened fish oil fatty acids; and (e) ethylene oxide condensates with polyoxypropylene, higher alcohols and alkyl phenols. The following optional additives are also used or mentioned: sodium carbonate sodium sulphate, sodium silicate, sodium perborate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, and sodium salts of either EDTA or nitriloacetic acid. The exemplified compositions are powders.</p>
