A coated laminated wood veneer is made by lining one side of the wood veneer with fibrous material impregnated with a thermoplastic adhesive, drying, applying a thermoplastic adhesive material, e.g. polyvinyl chloride, to the other side of the wood veneer, and drying. The fibrous material may be a cotton fabric, or cotton fleece. A backing of chopped rubber waste, or rubber and textile waste may be applied to the fabric side of the laminate and a polyvinyl foil may be applied to the wood veneer side, with the aid of heat and pressure. The appearance of the wood veneer may be altered by adding a colouring material to the adhesive applied thereto. |
