PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a defective identification code from flowing to a succeeding process as far as possible in printing of an identification code.SOLUTION: A printing apparatus includes a printing part for printing an identification code on each printing media in prescribed units, and an inspection part for inspecting the identification code printed on the printing media for each printing media and printing a prescribed mark on the printing medium including the defective identification code. When an error made in the printing part is an error that requires immediate stop of the operation of the printing part, the printing apparatus stops the operation of the printing part and the inspection part, prints the mark on the printing medium located within a mark printable range when the operation thereof is stopped, and informs a user that the printing media within a prescribed section including the printing medium on which the mark has been printed correspond to at least either the uninspected one or the defective one. |
