PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a confocal microscope system that enables a state of a surface of an observation object to be correctly observed in a short time without user's cumbersome works.SOLUTION: Pixel data is output that corresponds to a plurality of pixels on the basis of an output signal of a light reception element receiving light with which an observation object is irradiated. A sensitivity parameter for adjusting a value of the image data is set. In a state where a first sensitivity value is set as the sensitivity parameter, a plurality of pixel data is acquired, and the number of pixels in which a peak value of the pixel data is less than a threshold is detected. A ratio of the detected number of pixels to the total number of pixels in a unit area is calculated, and when the ratio thereof is greater than a preliminarily determined reference value, the pixel data is acquired in accordance with a second sensitivity value different from the first sensitivity value, and when the ratio thereof is smaller than the preliminarily determined reference value, the pixel data is not acquired in accordance with the second sensitivity value different from the first sensitivity value. |
