<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the additional value of a food or cosmetic, to use pearl or a pearl oyster shell more effectively, to improve the efficiency of pearl farming, and to contribute to the loss in weight of an industrial waste consequently. <P>SOLUTION: It is found that the purpose can be attained by that the powder of the nacre of a yellow based pearl and/or a yellow based pearl oyster shell or the ingredient that fractionates the portion including the pigment of the powder is used as a food or a cosmetic raw material.
