<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve problems in Lissajous drawing of a beam of light from a light source, i.e., deteriorated resolution in displaying a moving image caused by coarse traces and time-varying traces depending on drive frequencies. <P>SOLUTION: For a projection type display apparatus to perform Lissajous drawing, to provide an optical scanning apparatus which sets drive frequencies such that scan lines trace as precisely as possible and obtains high resolution, the optical scanning apparatus is provided with a light source that emits a beam of light, and scanning means that scans the beam of light in two axial directions that are mutually substantially perpendicular at a first frequency and a second frequency. The first frequency represented by f<SB POS="POST">H</SB>and the second frequency represented by f<SB POS="POST">L</SB>are determined using a plurality of mathematical formulas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
