According to the present invention, a sliding apparatus includes: a pair of sliding members having facing sliding surfaces which can move relatively; and a lubricant interposed between the facing sliding surfaces. At least one of the sliding surfaces is coated with an amorphous carbon film (chromium-containing DLC film) containing chromium (Cr). The lubricant contains an oil-soluble molybdenum compound having a chemical structure including three nuclei of molybdenum (Mo). More specifically, the chromium-containing DLC film includes 1-49 atomic% of Cr, 0-30 atomic% of H in 100 atomic% of the entire film while the remaining part includes C and impurities. The lubricant contains 5-800 ppm of Mo for the oil-soluble molybdenum compound in the overall mass of the lubricant. |
