The present invention discloses a cathode, a producing method thereof, and a lithium air battery employing the cathode. The cathode comprises: a carbon-based material where an electrolyte-philic ion-dissociative functional group is bonded on the surface; a lithium salt; and an electrolyte, wherein a specific surface area of the carbon-based material is 500 m^2/g or more, wherein the ion-dissociative functional group is electrochemically stable with respect to lithium in the range of 1.5 to 4.5 V.
