<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent correction from being interrupted due to lack of recording media when the amount of recording media required for the correction is not constant, resulting in waste of recording media. <P>SOLUTION: Before correction, the number of sheets to be required for the correction is set on the basis of a history (306). A preset value is set (310), or confirmation print is performed to set the number of sheets to be used on the basis of a difference between the current value and a target value (312-314). The number of sheets to be used is compared with the number of remaining sheets (316, 318). If there is not enough sheets, a user selects whether to replenish sheets to continue the correction, to use alternative sheets to continue the correction or to quit the correction (322).
