A liquid fuel atomizing device comprises a body 1 having interconnected needle valves 23, 30 controlling the flow of oil and atomizing air to a detachable nozzle 3, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown). The nozzle 3 comprises a tip 12 having an outwardly flared aperture 13 screwed to an air supply conduit 11. The tip 12 carries a block 14 having an oil drilling 16 and an air drilling 15 communicating with a flat atomizing chamber 17 between block 14 and tip 12. The needle valves 23, 30 are attached by a yoke 38 for movement with a main oil supply on-off valve 21 so that the oil valve 21 opens at least before the needle valve 23 metering the oil to the nozzle. Cooling water or air flows through a pipe 43 to a tube 9 surrounding the conduit 10. The nozzle device is attached to the body 1 by a yoke 6 and locating pegs 4, the body 1 having transverse air and oil inlets 26, 18 enabling several bodies to be joined in a ring supply main.</p> |
