Disclosed are a smart control system and a method for the same. A smart meter reading system comprises: a communications device for control which includes a standard connect interface for connecting to a meter reading device for performing meter reading for equipment in a building and a near field communications (NFC) function, and stores NFC tag information including meter reading data calculated through the meter reading process by the meter reading device; a mobile terminal which has the NFC function, obtains NFC tag information, and transmits setting data for operation control of the meter reading device to the meter reading device through the NFC function; a control server which provides a control service using the meter reading data; and a tag management server which relays data transmitted and received between the mobile terminal and the control server.
