In one embodiment, aggregating packet data units (PDU) associated with one or more MTC devices are aggregated by a radio network controller. The aggregated PDU associated with the one or more MTC devices are then concatenated into an Iu PDU based on a radio access bearer (RAB) identifier associated with the one or more MTC devices.
