1. A polyimide having the following structure:wherein R2 is:
a substituted or an unsubstituted cyclic or acyclic alkyl group, a substituted or an unsubstituted aryl group, or combinations thereof of alkyl and aryl group;wherein the substituted group is selected from the group consisting of oxygen-, sulfur-, halogen-, and nitrogen-containing group;wherein n is large enough to provide a polyimide with molecular weight of at least 5,000; andwherein the polyimide is derived from a diamine comprising lysinol and a dianhydride represented by the following formula: |
