A modular shelving system may include a plurality of configurable components and methods of forming configuration assemblies from such components. The configuration assemblies of the modular shelving system may be paired with and coupled to other shelving units and/or furniture.

1. A modular shelving system comprising:
a first linked shelving assembly comprising:
a first frame, wherein the first frame comprises two or more first legs, and wherein each first leg comprises a plurality of first slots, and wherein the plurality of first slots are disposed in a first column of slots and a second column of slots;a top panel coupled to the first frame;a first panel coupled to one or more slots of the first column of slots in at least one of the first legs;a first side panel coupled to the first frame, wherein the first side panel comprises an inner surface and an outer surface, anda second side panel coupled to the first frame, wherein the second side panel comprises an inner surface and an outer surface, wherein the first side panel and the second side panel are coupled such that the inner surface of the first side panel and the inner surface of the second side panel encloses opposing sides of the first linked shelving assembly; a second linked shelving assembly comprising:
a second frame, wherein the second frame comprises two or more second legs, and wherein each second leg comprises a plurality of second slots, and wherein the plurality of second slots are disposed in a third column of slots and a fourth column of slots;a second top panel coupled to the second frame;a third side panel coupled to the second frame, wherein the third side panel comprises an inner surface and an outer surface, anda fourth side panel coupled to the second frame, wherein the fourth side panel comprises an inner surface and an outer surface, coupled thereto such that the inner surface of the third side panel and the inner surface of the fourth side panel encloses opposing sides of the second linked shelving assembly; and a seating platform comprising:
a first end coupled to one or more of the slots in the second column of slots of at least one of the first legs in the first linked shelving assembly; anda second end coupled to one or more slots in the second column of slots of at least one of the second legs in the second linked shelving assembly.
