[Also in Division H2] A receptacle for a printed circuit board 100, Fig. 1, comprises a peripheral wall, one section 120 of which has a plurality of apertures 130 in a predetermined pattern, and a connector 200, Fig. 2, for use with the circuit board 100, is provided with a code bar 206 having a plurality of projections 208 which engage apertures 130 when the circuit board 100 engages the connector 200. The peripheral wall also comprises side frames 104, 106, having cleats 108 for holding the board 100, and an L-shaped end section 110 which may have a projection 116 for riveting into the board; section 120 may have a similar projection 126, and both end sections 110, 120 may have pegs 128 for staking to the board. The peripheral wall may be made of plastics or metal, preferably of cold rolled steel; if metallic, it may be used for shielding or grounding connections. End section 120 is provided with a plurality of scored sections 132 removable by the application of force from inside the wall, which are removed as required to form the predetermined pattern of apertures 130; the apertures may be identified by numerals 136. Springs 134 on the sideframes of the receptacle adjacent end section 110 act as clamps and shock-absorbers. The code bar 206, which is mounted on the side of connector 200 adapted to receive end 102 of circuit board 100, comprises a plurality of projections 208 scored at 208a so that they may readily be removed by bending. A code strip 212, e.g. of plastics, may be attached to the connector 200.
