The present invention relates to a door lock using iris recognition and a user authentication method thereof. The door lock includes: a wakeup module which recognizes an approaching user and drives the door lock according to a user′s button input; and an iris recognition module which compares the iris pattern input to the door lock with an iris pattern stored in advance when the door lock is driven by the wakeup module and recognizes the user approaching the door lock according to the comparison result.
