The present invention relates to a mobile terminal capable of sensing a touch when a display unit is in an inactivated state, and to a method for controlling the same. According to the present invention, the mobile terminal includes: a display unit; a sensing unit sensing a touch applied to the display unit; and a control unit processing a second touch as memo information if the second touch different from the first touch is applied with the first touch applied to the display unit in the inactivated state. While the first touch for the display unit is maintained, a memo function processing the second touch applied to the display unit as an input of the memo information is maintained. |
