PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement power saving even when a system is during operation.SOLUTION: A server transmits a data frame by using optical communication. The server, in transmitting the data frame to a destination, determines whether the transmission is performed in a first mode or in a second mode. The server, when it is determined that the transmission is performed in the first mode, transmits the data frame by using a multi-level optical signal; and, when it is determined that the transmission is performed in the second mode, transmits the data frame by using a single-level optical signal. |
