PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid supply unit which inhibits air entering through an opening from accumulating in a liquid retaining member even when a wall part, in which the opening is formed, deforms to the inner side.SOLUTION: In a first ink cartridge 21 (a liquid supply unit), an ink supply port formation member 55 and an ink retaining member 81 are stored in a recessed part 43 of a housing 44. The ink supply port formation member 55 covers a cartridge opening 52 formed at a bottom plate part 46 of the housing 44 from the inner side. An atmosphere communication passage 85 which allows the cartridge opening 52 to communicate with an atmosphere hole 74 provided at a lid 45 is provided at an interior part of the housing 44. A groove part (an atmosphere communication part) 82 is formed in the ink supply port formation member 55 and the groove part 82 forms a part of the atmosphere communication passage 85. Thus, even when the bottom plate part 46 deforms to the inner side, the atmosphere communication passage 85 is not closed and air entering through the cartridge opening 52 does not accumulate in the ink supply port formation member 55. |
