PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side plate which can suppress a decrease in strength during welding to adjacent plates.SOLUTION: A side plate 11 has a pair of side plate pieces 16 and 17 welded to each other in an axial direction D1. A weld line between the side plate pieces 16 and 17 comprises a processing object weld line L2 so arranged that an angle with respect to the axial direction D1 may be a processing angle A2 and a first weld line L1 extending from the processing object weld line L2 to the upper edge part of the side plate 11 and so arranged that an angle with respect to the axial direction D1 may be a first angle A1 smaller than the processing angle A2. The side plate piece 16 is subjected to peening processing R1 for improving the fatigue strength of the side plate piece 16 along the processing object weld line L2.
