SAND PUMPING METHOD AND SAND SETTLING FACILITY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand pumping method and a sand settling facility that can collect sand further reliably in an energy saving manner.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for pumping sand deposited in a sand settling basin 3 in which an inflow gate 2 is disposed at an inflow section for inflow water and which is formed such that a bottom surface thereof becomes lower continuously or stepwise toward an installation region of a sand pumping machine 10. The method for pumping sand includes: a sand pumping step for activating the sand pumping machine 10 and pumping sand and water accumulated in the sand settling basin 3; and a sand collecting step for making water of a predetermined quantity flow in by adjusting the inflow gate 2 to a predetermined micro-opening during implementation of the sand pumping step, and for collecting sand deposited on the bottom surface toward the installation region of the sand pumping machine 10 with the inflow water.
