PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source controller which can prevent an excessively large current from flowing to other normal light source, by detecting failure of the light source due to open-circuit failure, and provide a light source control method.SOLUTION: A light source controller includes a constant current circuit 100 for supplying a current to a plurality of LEDs 111, 112, 113, 114 collectively, current detection circuits 131, 132 for grouping the plurality of LEDs 111, 112, 113, 114, and detecting the amount of current supplied to each group, and a microcomputer 900 for controlling the current supplied from the constant current circuit 100 to be reduced, when the open-circuit failure of the LED is detected, by detecting the open-circuit failure of the LEDs 111, 112, 113, 114 based on the ratio of the amount of current of each group. |
