PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio wave arrival direction estimation apparatus and a radio wave arrival direction estimation system capable of realizing size reduction, ensuring high angular resolution and high accuracy, and reducing computation volume.SOLUTION: A radio wave arrival direction estimation apparatus comprises: a receiving unit 100 that includes a rotary table 112, a drive unit 113 driving the rotary table 112 to rotate at a preset constant frequency, and an antenna 111 fixed onto the rotary table 112 and receiving a radio wave transmitted from a wireless tag 300; a storage unit 220 storing an approximate model representing a reception signal output from the receiving unit 100 using approximation of the radio wave transmitted from the wireless tag 300 to a plane wave, the approximate model including an azimuth angle and a phase of the wireless tag 300 relative to a reference azimuth as unknown parameters; and an azimuth angle determination unit 230 determining an azimuth angle of the approximate model highest in degree of coincidence with the reception signal by calculating a degree of coincidence between the reception signal output from the receiving unit 100 and the approximate model stored in the storage unit 220 while changing the unknown parameters of the approximate model. |
