PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool which is used during the assembling of a double-acting axial bearing on a spindle machine and which is constituted so as not to require subsequent corrective countermeasures that increase the risk of damage of the bearing and in any case increase the mounting time of a spindle.SOLUTION: A tool 20 for assembling an axial rolling bearing 30 is provided. The bearing includes a pair of radially outer rings 31, 32, a pair of radially inner rings 33, 34 and a double row of rolling elements 35, 36, the tool 20 is formed by two shells. The two shells are substantially semi-cylindrical shaped and alike each other, approached along corresponding diametrical planes, and are stably fixed to each other by elastic means, and circumscribe the two radially outer rings 31, 32 of the bearing 30 so as to ensure the radial alignment between the radially outer rings. |
