PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid discharge device capable of preventing a reduction in image quality of an image printed when complementing a nozzle where discharge abnormality occurs.SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device comprises: a head unit 30 comprising a first nozzle group Ln-BK including a first nozzle N-TG discharging liquid of a first color, a second nozzle group Ln-CY including a second nozzle discharging liquid of a second color and a third nozzle group Ln-MG including a third nozzle discharging liquid of a third color; and a control section controlling driving of the head unit 30. The control section increases a discharge rate of the liquid from the second nozzle by a second discharge rate less than a first discharge rate in lieu of discharging of the liquid from the first nozzle and increases a discharge rate of the liquid from the third nozzle by a third discharge rate less than the first discharge rate when a discharge rate of the liquid of the first color to be discharged from the first nozzle for forming an image on a medium is the first discharge rate and a discharge state of the liquid from the first nozzle is abnormal.
