PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet separating device that can suppress abrasion of components such as a separating member and maintain a separation performance regardless of width sizes of sheets.SOLUTION: A sheet separating device 1 comprises: a supporting part 6; a pair of guides 61 and 62; a separating roller 42; a separating member 20; energizing means 29, one end of which is locked to the separating member 20 while being elastically deformed, which energizes the separating member 20 toward the separating roller 42; and a base part 105 to which the other end of the energizing means 29 is locked. Between the movable guides 61 and 62 which can be moved is provided an interlocking part 107 which interlocks movement of the movable guides 61 and 62 in a direction in which an interval W is narrowed so as to displace the base part 105 in a first direction in which elastic deformation of the energizing means 29 is weakened and interlocks movement of the movable guides 61 and 62 in a direction in which the interval W is widened so as to displace the base part 105 in a second direction opposite to the first direction. |
