The present invention provides a flexible light emitting device comprising: an underlying insulating film; a thin film transistor which is formed on the first face of the underlying insulating film; an interlayer insulating film which is formed on the first face of the underlying insulating film with the thin film transistor interposed therebetween; a first pixel electrode which is formed on the second face opposite to the first face of the underlying insulating film; an electroluminescent layer which is formed on the second face of the underlying insulating film through the first pixel electrode; a second pixel electrode which is formed on the second face of the underlying insulating film with the first pixel electrode and the electroluminescent layer interposed therebetween; and a wire which is electrically connected to a semiconductor layer of the thin film transistor in a contact hole formed in the interlayer insulating film, and is electrically connected to the first pixel electrode in a through-hole penetrating at least the interlayer insulating film and the underlying insulating film.
