PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-silicon carbide composite body which has high thermal conductivity, low thermal expansion and low specific gravity and to provide a production method of the aluminum-silicon carbide composite body.SOLUTION: The aluminum-silicon carbide composite body is provided which is made by impregnating a porous silicon carbide formed body with aluminum alloy and in which a proportion of silicon carbide in the composite body is 60 vol.% or more, the content of silicon carbide having a particle size of 80 to 800 μm is 60 to 75 mass%, the content of silicon carbide having a particle size of 8 μm or more and less than 80 μm is 20 to 30 mass% and the content of silicon carbide having a particle size of less than 8 μm is 5 to 10 mass%. |
