The present invention relates to a heat storage material for storing hydration heat energy, and a producing method thereof. The heat storage material of the present invention comprises a porous carrier and a salt impregnated into the porous carrier, wherein the hydration heat energy is stored in the heat storage material. The producing method thereof comprises the steps of: producing a salt solution by mixing a salt and a solvent; impregnating the salt into the porous carrier by dipping the porous carrier in the salt solution; and drying the salt-impregnated porous carrier. The produced heat storage material has high material transfer and heat transfer efficiency and can be environmentally friendly by enabling a semi-permanent use thereof.
