A method for displaying a holographic three dimensional image comprises the following steps of: generating a multi-hologram image signal in which a plurality of hologram images, which show the same three dimensional image, are shifted by a predetermined interval and overlap each other; and modulating light, which is incident to a spatial light modulator, according to the multi-hologram image signal. According to the present invention, the method and apparatus for displaying a holographic three dimensional image can expand the visual field of an iris.
