The invention provides a clothes drier which is capable of reliably preventing oil components from causing natural fire in a rotary drum even if to-be-dried matters containing oil components, such as clothes, towels and the like, are put in the rotary drum for a long time. The clothes drier is characterized in that hot air heated by a heating device (37) is blown toward to-be-dried matters (M) such as clothes and the like which are contained in a cylindrical rotary drum (2) with an open front part while the clothes and the like are stirred and dried; an oxygen permeable film (3) is configured at an specified position in the rotary drum (2); a pump (30) is arranged for driving air in the rotary drum (2) to pass through the oxygen permeable film (3) to be exhausted out of the rotary drum (2); and during the period from the drying finishing moment to the operation stop of the clothes drier, the pump (30) works, so that the oxygen concentration of the air in the rotary drum (2) is reduced to an extent that combustion reaction can not be maintained in the rotary drum (2). |
