The present invention relates to a method for the asexual propagation of Quercus rubra, and is provided to utilize Quercus rubra, which is very useful, and promote related research. The invention comprises of the following steps: cutting a seed of Quercus rubra, and obtaining a cotyledon explant of the seed; placing the cotyledon explant on a medium, and inducing somatic embryogenesis; germinating the induced somatic embryo on a medium to induce the growth of roots, and generating roots. With the invention, clone seedlings of Quercus rubra can be manufactured in a short period of time. The method for the asexual propagation can be applied when developing a new variety of Quercus rubra by adding external genes, which are immune to harmful insects.
