Disclosed are a display device and a drive method thereof. The display device comprises: a display screen (10), comprising a plurality of subpixels (105) arranged as a matrix, the colors of the subpixels (105) in the same column comprising all of the colors required for display; a grating (11) arranged above the display screen (10) and comprising a light-transmissive region (113) and a light-blocking region (112), alternately arranged, the light-transmissive region (113) being parallel to each column of subpixels (105); a rolling structure (12) located between the display screen (10) and the grating (11); and a pushing mechanism (30), used for pushing the grating (11) and/or the display screen (10), causing the relative positions of the grating (11) and display screen (11) to switch between a first state and a second state, and switching the display device between dual-view display and privacy display. The display device is capable of switching, according to requirements, between dual-view and privacy, satisfying the requirements for integrating a variety of functions. |
