PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode which is superior in the capability of diffusing gas, and achieves good adhesion between a microporous layer and a conductive porous base material.SOLUTION: Provided are a gas diffusion electrode to be used for a fuel battery and a manufacturing method thereof. The gas diffusion electrode comprises: a conductive porous base material; and a microporous layer formed on at least one surface of the conductive porous base material and including conductive fine particles and a water-repellent resin. The gas diffusion electrode has a gas diffusion of 30% or more in its thickness direction. The conductive porous base material is 70° or less in sliding-down angle, and 80% or more in porosity. The microporous layer has a thickness of 10-50 μm, and a porosity of 60-95%. |
