The present invention relates to a water meter for freeze protection having a gear set protecting cover which prevents damage to a reduction gear part by forming a gear set protecting cover in a circumference of the reduction gear part. According to the present invention, the water meter for freeze protection having a gear set protecting cover comprises: a lower housing; a water current generating part installed in a bottom of a receiving space of a lower housing, rotating an impeller; a reduction gear part installed in a top of a water current generating part inside the receiving space of the lower housing; a flow rate display part installed in the top of the reduction gear part, displaying a flow rate; a transparent plate placed on the top of the flow rate display part, protecting a display plate; an upper housing coupled to the lower housing to grip the transparent plate; and a gear set protecting cover installed in the circumference of a multi-stage gear set of the reduction gear part. |
