PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthesis method of an ergothioneine precursor, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, the tautomer, the stereoisomer, or the stereoisomers mixture in all proportions.SOLUTION: Provided is a synthesis method of an ergothioneine precursor, or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof, the tautomer, or the stereoisomer, represented by the following formula, by adding hydrochloric acid to histidine trimethyl betaine (Herushinin) aqueous solution, adding dropwise thereto bromine at 0°C, and further adding L-cysteine.
