The invention relates to the field of ingredient encapsulation. More particularly, the invention relates to the use of an aminated homopolymer for encapsulating active ingredients, in particular an aminoethyl methacrylate homopolymer (poly(AEMA)). The invention further relates to a method of synthesizing an aminoethyl methacrylate homopolymer, and the homopolymer produced by such a method. The invention also concerns a method of encapsulating ingredients using the aminoethyl methacrylate homopolymer as cationic polymer and the microcapsules produced by this encapsulation method.
