PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device with improved luminous efficiency, and a display device including the light-emitting device.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element which produces blue light and a fluorescent layer which receives the blue light and allows a part of the received blue light to be transmitted through the layer and a remainder part to be converted into yellow light having a wavelength range different from the blue light for light emission. The fluorescent layer has a half value width of at least 110 nm, and has an emission spectrum whose peak wavelength is positioned in a wavelength range of 530 nm or more and 560 nm or less. The yellow light has peak luminescence intensity corresponding to 10% or more and 30% or less of the peak luminescence intensity of the blue light.
